Following is my vfx demoreel shot breakdown. All work herein this reel is done by me.
A 20 sec short for the colorful festival of Holi. Everything was completed in a week.
A project to study Maya Hair styling, rendering & setting up advance skin shading with Mentalray. As this project was mainly aimed at rendering, I had a simple rig setup for this model and used motion capture data to transfer animation on this rig.
This project mimics the translucency ( sub surface scatter ) effect in leaves & its reaction to change in light conditions.
This project shows 2.5d animation setup using After Effects. It was an image I created in 3ds Max & rendered using VRay. Later I separated it into various layers in After effects for 3d space camera animation. To finalize the animation I created the following effects in After Effects:
This project shows the use of MEL scripts Maya Terragen Connection I developed to export Maya camera animation to Terragen. Prior to version 2, Terragen lacked animation capabilities. My scripts filled this gap. Actually the camera was not directly animated in Maya for this scene, rather I tracked a footage I shot with my camcorder and applied this tracked data to Maya camera and finally exported this animation to Terragen through my scripts.
Created this image using Maya & ZBrush for a competition named “Uplifting Universe”.
A matte painting I created using Maya & Vue. Painted additional textures in Photoshop. Later converted the painting into a 2.5d camera animation using After Effects.
Hair simulation & styling using Maya.
It is a 10 sec interstitial where this toy is shouting at the clouds that they can rain on his house and they can rain on his tree but they can not rain on him.
